Wednesday, Oct. 05. Our first hike is a trail up toward the nature reserve of Aiguille des Roches Rouges high up the valley near the village of Tre-Le-Champ. We spent the morning shopping in Les Houches¬† (SuperU….we love you!!) and generally getting ourselves oriented. Therefore we don’t start the hike until early in the afternoon.

Nevertheless, it should serve as a good “tune-up” hike and test our ability to handle the altitude as well as our conditioning.

Panoramic view from trail.

View of Aiguille d’Argenti√®re.

Half way up the trail we spot a sure-footed female bouqetin.

Here she is again with calf.

Baby bouquetin. Ain’t he cute??
