Wolfe Island stands at the junction between Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, near the city of Kingston, Ontario. Spent yesterday there in clear cold weather with a fellow photographer in search of the more than 30 Snowy Owls currently occupying the island.

Ducks congregate in small open pools created in the wake of the Wolfe Island ferry’s passage between the island and the city of Kingston to hunt for fish under the ice.
