Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

SECOND CLASS WASH HOUSE, GROSSE ISLE, QUEBEC

An image from a less happier time, the second class wash house served immigrants forcibly quarantined on Grosse Isle in the St. Lawrence. Thousands of Irish did not survive the ravages of the European cholera outbreaks that they brought with them to the New World and were buried on what is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site

MEMORIAL TO FALLEN CANADIAN DOCTORS

Memorial to the brave and dedicated doctors who died delivering care to the afflicted and who now lie with their patients.  Ave Atque Vale!!
