Image of the trip! The historic lighthouse at Point Abino is accessible only by a private road which is open to the public only during the summer months. After some serious begging the security guard at the gate finally relented and allowed me to walk the one mile in. I’m glad he did as the clouds could not have been more dramatic!!<\/p>\n

THE COMFORT MAPLE, PELHAM, ONTARIO<\/p>\n

Reputedly the oldest sugar maple in Canada, this plot of land on which it stands was donated by the Comfort family to the province of Ontario. My family were neighbours and good friends of the Comforts when they lived in Pelham.<\/p>\n
