I managed to take in the small but distinguished ceremony at St. Saviour’s church (the Brock Memorial Church) in the Village of Queenston the day before the major re-enactment. Queenston is twinned with St. Peter Port, Guernsey, birthplace of General Sir Isaac Brock.<\/p>\n

Couldn’t resist sticking this in. A couple of years back I took a picture of my mother at this exact same spot. I phoned her yesterday and caught her just as she came in the door from her mile walk home from her day job where she sold some 400 items for her church charity. It was her 92nd birthday!! Happy Birthday Mom!!! I’m sure General Brock would be almost as proud of you as I am!!!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
