The maple tree which inspired Canada&#8217;s unofficial national anthem, The Maple Leaf Forever, was cut down in a recent storm. Prior to the running of the Kentucky Derby, they play &#8220;My Old Kentucky Home&#8221;. Prior to the running of the Canada&#8217;s most prestigious horse race, the Queen&#8217;s Plate, they play the crowd favourite, &#8220;The Maple Leaf Forever&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The Comfort Maple, shown above in resplendent fall colour, lies a stone&#8217;s throw from my great grandfather&#8217;s grave and is about 35 miles from Ridgeway.
