At 330 miles north of the Arctic Circle, Barrow is America’s most northern community with a resident population of 4,700. The locals call\u00a0it “Top of the World”. The community was officially renamed to\u00a0Ukpaigvik (Inupiat for “the place to hunt snowy owls”) in 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n
