Being unfamiliar with western birds, when I first saw this hove into view, I thought I had an albino crow!! LOL!! The milky, grey sky in the background prevented my auto-focus from acquiring a good, tight image&#8230;..however it&#8217;s good enough for an identity shot!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bilyreid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/BLUE-GROUSE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-876\" title=\"BLUE GROUSE\" src=\"http:\/\/billreid.violet-flame.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/BLUE-GROUSE-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bilyreid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/BLUE-GROUSE-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bilyreid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/BLUE-GROUSE-1024x689.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/bilyreid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/BLUE-GROUSE.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Blue Grouse.\u00a0 I spotted this western speciality while cruising through an icy moutain pass over a desolate, narrow and winding road. It took me a good mile or two to find a relatively safe place to do a 180 degree turn (one misstep here would have entailed very costly and lengthy consequences!).
