My recent visit with friends on Lake Simcoe provided the opportunity to discover and explore the delights of St. George’s Anglican Church which dates from 1879. The churchyard cemetery dates from 1839.
The cemetery contains the graves of two famous Canadian authors.

Headstone of Mazo de la Roche. Mazo de la Roche (January 15, 1879 – July 12, 1961), born Mazo Louise Roche in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, was the author of the Jalna novels, one of the most popular series of books of her time.
