Major find of the day was a solitary Golden plover in residual breeding plumage on a rocky shoal a couple of hundred yards off the edge of the Ottawa river. This plumage was a first here in Ottawa not only for me but for two other bird photography buddies as well.

COOPER’S HAWK
Another propitious event of the day was this Cooper’s Hawk drying himself off after a cleansing dip in the Ottawa river and giving us a gorgeous fan tail display. Much appreciated!!
