The following images were taken on a tour boat out of Seward, Alaska.
The Pelagic Cormorant is a small, slender cormorant of the Pacific Coast. Although it is exclusively marine in habits, its name is misleading, since it prefers inshore areas rather than the open ocean.
The Red-faced cormorant is found only in the North Pacific. On a fly-over, this individual only gave me three clicks. Fortunately the third was in focus!! The species has been of concern but fortunately seems to be increasing in number.
