During a recent stopover in Naples, I had the opportunity to revisit the Capodimonte Museum on a pilgrimage of sorts to reconnect with Pieter Bruegel after a far too long interlude of several decades. On the very first day of my arrival I walked through hot, steamy heat and confusing streets up to the Capodimonte park to experience once again the genius that was Bruegel.
I recall reading Hemingway after my first visit and he said that to see one of Pieter Bruegel’s works was like taking an unexpected fist to the stomach.
What can I say? The earth moved! It really did. How I miss Ernest!!
