ALGONQUIN PARK OUTING

A late winter opportunity for a day trip to Algonquin Park presented itself yesterday and off we went for a day in the wilderness. Reports had been coming in all winter of Boreal Chickadees in the Park and although I had visited the Park several times over the past couple of winters, had always managed to get skunked on this bird.

Gray Jays were present as usual!!

In a good year you might get to see the Three-toed woodpecker or the Black-backed but today all we got is this Hairy!

Red squirrels nattered at us as we patiently awaited the arrival of the Boreal Chickadees.

And finally in they came. What a treat!! A life bird for me.

Thanks again to good buddy Paul who provided the transportation!!
